The Federal Minimum Wage for Tipped Workers in the United States

In 18 63, at emancipation, they mutated the notion of tipping. The service sector, the hospitality industry, mutated he notion of tipping from being an extra abonus on top of a wage to becoming the wage itself. And that idea became institutionalized into law in 19 38 as part of the new deal when everybody got the right to the federal minimum wage for the first time. But millions of black workers were left out and told, you get a zero dollar wage, as long as your boss pays you. Your boss is not responsible for paying you. We went from zero in 19 38 all the way up to the ridiculous two dollars and 13 cents an hour, which i the current federal
