Is There a Decentralized System That Provides Redundancy?

I'm not saying there should be no ads or no way of creating revenue streams for services and systems that cost money to operate. But I just, I think that in many situations it's, it becomes really egregious. There needs to be some sort of like major crux that gets figured out that will ultimately make people make that shift. We've seen all these things happen and we never see the adoption shift. It would have to get to a scale that's large enough to ultimately be competitive with the incumbent web to type system.
