How Do We Humanize Themselves?

I know how difficult it is to write and humanize even the bullies in our lives, the quote unquote villains. How do we recast these villains? See them as part of a system. Understand how this ended up being the role that they felt they had to play. We have our champions, but we also have our villains. Sometimes they exist outside us and sometimes they take up space in our own heads. They are often the fourth that tries to confine us into something that for them feels comfortable and acceptable.
