Introduction

Western Digital, the storage giant that we all know, has suffered what they're referring to as a network security incident. They're pointing their finger at an unauthorised third party that gained access to a number of company's systems. The upshot of this for many of Western Digital users is that they can no longer access their data - which is a small problem.
