i agree that we're always in a social context, and we're always making choices. But at the same time, there's a difference between trying to really offer someone the ability to choose for themselves, verses a kind of social constructs that are pressuring. If you feel like a spouse is manipulating you, and they are, it has very different ramifications on the relationship. I do think it's important to keep track of the very real experience of somebody withholding information in order to pe you in a particular direction.
