Product Management: Should You Focus Into a Specific Industry?

As a new product manager, should you look to focus into a specific industry for your career? You don't want to eliminate a potential role just based on the type of company. But i do think that it's helpful to have some sort of north star in mind about this is the kind of company that i want to work for.
