The Corp Family Home in Michelong, Victoria

Maria Corp moved to Australia in 1976 with her first husband Manuel. The two settled in the Greenvale suburbs, and in 1978 they had a daughter, Laura. In 1987 their idyllic suburban life fell apart abruptly when Manuel suffered a fatal heart attack. Maria found serenity in her large semi-isolated house on the edge of the expansive Victorian countryside. It made her comfortably nostalgic, bringing back memories of her childhood growing up on a working farm in the rural hillside village of Primera Lombata in Portugal.
