The Importance of Purpose-Driven Companies

Women are about 20% more likely than male founders to create a purpose-driven company. Having a purpose shows an element of nurturing, and all the studies find that women are expected to demonstrate nurturing even when their companies are doing whatever. The idea that having a purpose component to a company can eliminate some impact of bias and fundraising is really surprising. It amplifies the bias, but it lubricates the capital.
