The Evolution of Fairness
fairness is a human creation. It was made up by humans. Nature isn't fair either. Evolution period isn't fair. Something gets advantaged, other things get disadvantaged. People were stuck with our linear mindset. You have to believe and build towards it. What about the third? Life's not fair. Yeah. How do you extrapolate there? The first mention of fairness is around 1600. So it's about 400 years old fairness. And as a concept that was really great and the thing that put fairness in the center was actually the Industrial Revolution where somebody could come from nowhere and with a new technology could create a fortune.
