Is Marriage Equality a Win for Gay Kids?
Jules: I was thinking a lot about Sarah Schulman's idea that like marriage equality was driven in a lot in large part by this big desire to reunify the like white middle class family right. And so if we introduce marriage as a life model for those gays and lesbians and bisexual folks, then there's a way for them to sort of again reunify with that family structure and the rupture can be healed and we can go on with our lives right. It seems somewhat clear to me that if you as a parent can imagine that, okay, wasn't expecting a gay kid, I guess, but they're going to get married and it's going to look the same to me
