At this point the kongo had effectively two different governments patrice lemambas and president casa vu booze. The uin chose to recognize casa vU booze government because they didn't like lemamba. Lemamba fled the capital for the town of stanleyville where he had all of his supporters. He was beaten badly by katanga soldiers and then executed in front of several of their officials including some belgens who were officials in the katanga government.
