The Importance of the Birth of Jesus
The expectation is, as Isaiah gives the prophecy, she's going to conceive a child. And really all across the Old Testament, that's what we've been seeing in Genesis. The birth of Isaac signals that God is going to keep the promise. Matthew doesn't think that Isaiah is referring to the Messiah. Right.Matthew is not. Recognizing what he's recognizing that in Isaiah's day, there was a foreign threat and defray him.
