How Has the Eastern Tradition Helped You Understand Alchemical or Western Philosophy Better?

Secting was a, something intuitively led me away from that. I didn't realy have a teacher to guide me, which i think was the first issue. But what really impacted me the most was when i learned a mystical meditation and i started going into light on on a daily basis. That had such a profound experience on my life. It made the enlightenment process personal, and it gave an outlet of expression for all of these studies that i was going through. There's some different aspects to the eastern tradition that might generally be a little bit more difficult to find in the western tradition. Or maybe not.
