Is There Any Advantage to Volume Control?
Some patients with intersticial lung disease are easier to ventilate on pressure control. In assist control, there're really only four cardinal ventilator settings. With volume cycled, we know exactly how much volume we'll get both each breath and a minimum minut ventilation. And one thing you do guarantee is you won't go above the set pressure.
