The Importance of Consciousness

Chalmers: The main effort to find the neural correlate of consciousness has focused upon vision. We understand the cortical mechanisms of vision better than we do any other perceptual modality, he says. But Chalmers argues that this is an unfortunate place to start because it is not an intrinsically conscious process. He adds there's a further inference that therefore the experiencing must exist in some other dimension.
