Before Donald Trump became president you'd probably never heard of Tom Nichols unless you moved into lead academic military or foreign policy circles. From 1997 until stepping down earlier this month, Tom occupied a prestigious perch on the faculty of the US Naval War College. It was his righteous, articulate, and often hilarious denunciations of Trump that gained him a wider following in the wider world. Even though his taste in music is truly and utterly appalling, Tom owns his strange and inexplicable preferences from loving Toto and Barry Manolo to hating the velvet underground.
