The Effects of Laser Pulses on the Transparency of a Card

Researchers have used a special material that goes from being transparent to reflective when you shine a powerful laser at it. The reflected light hits a screen, just like in the original double slit experiment, and it creates a different sort of interference pattern. This time, the interference makes the frequency of the light oscillate up and down instead of affecting the brightness.
