The Sermon on the Mount: A Paradigm for Spiritual Formation
Jesus' end goal isn't to inform you, it's to transform you into somebody who is like him and in doing so like your real true self. Jesus begins and he ends the Sermon on the Mount with this idea of practice. If it was a library, the book ends. Our practice, meaning what? Meaning Jesus assumes that this manifesto for life in the Kingdom of God will take you a lifetime of practice. We are formed by teaching, what I'm doing right now, by practice, by community and by the Holy Spirit.
