I think the argument that I find convincing is that roll-up already inherits a lot of decentralization from Ethereum and so it doesn't need to be as secure. Why couldn't they also like exert somewhat of power through governance? Liquid staking works really well on ETH for a few reasons but no roll-up talkness, he says. The benefits of L3s are kind of fuzzy in a lot of cases for optimistic chains.
