Stella Madera's was the next eyewitness to pass the scene at around 11 20 p.m. She rushed off to nearby Benetia and flagged down Captain Daniel Pitta who was on patrol. He radioed Benetia Police Department, where Officer Pierre Bedou had just pulled into the parking lot with his partner Steve Armenta.
