Thetaleban, a militant islamist group that ran most of afghanistan in the late 19 nineties, have taken back control. After 20 years of war, the taliban have swept to victory again. Talaban forces have pledged not to allow the country to become a base for terrorists who could threaten the west. Questions are already being asked about how the group will govern the country and what their rule means for human rights, political freedoms and the go politics of the region.
