Seizures can occur in up to 50% of children who remain encephalopathic after achieving a risk. About half of children with post-ROSC seizures experience exclusively non-convulsive subclinical seizures. Pain and discomfort needs to be controlled using opioids, such as morphine or fentanyl,. You can also use other adjuncts, such as presidex or benzodiazepines. These are going to be agents like Vecuronium and Pancuronium. With analgesia or sedation, these can be used. And they may actually improve oxygenation and ventilation in case of patient ventilator dissynchrony or severely compromised pulmonary function.
