The Importance of Location Sound Recorders

I think anybody who works day to day in film, the idea of not rolling sound maybe makes them feel a bit sick. Like what on earth are we going to do with this footage if we don't even have a reference point, especially if there's dialogue in it? So my approach is just to cut that person out altogether. And I think I work with very small budgets and I work with a lot of favours from people, not least from people who are giving locations for free and things like that. If I can go into a location and not have to worry about the sound considerations, I find that very freeing and I find that really exciting that I don’t even have
