The Name Jezreel Is a Symbol of God's Mercy
When she conceived and bore a son, hosea was instructed to name him jezreel. Such naming children as prophetic signs is also seen in isaiah chapter eight. Israel relied upon the covenant, mercy and goodness of god for its continued existence. For the lord to cease to extend such mercy to her was a serious matter.
