The Decline of the Clock

The clock itself doesn't survive. It was destroyed at the dissolution of the monasteries in the 16th century. There is a description that says it had some kind of a tide or gauge. And there's a table in a St Albans manuscript which shows the flood tide, the time when the current changes in London.
