Is There Limitation and Restrictions?

I think sometimes for writers that's like the scariest part is when you go to an open page and infinite possibilities are there. I'm often kind of trying to put some kind of arbitrary restrictions on it so that within that space there's some friction which leads to a lot of imaginative creativity. It depends on whether you want that the reading experience to be partly about those restrictions or not right? You don't want it to be transparent to the reader is that true would you say? Yeah in many cases though sometimes that the restrictions are interestingright.
