How Richard Branson Feels About Selling Companies
Selling companies has always left me with an empty feeling. I can still taste the tears streaming down my face after I sold Virgin Records in 1992 to keep Virgin Atlantic float. Selling 49% of Virgin Atlantic in 1999 was very tough too but we needed the funds to kick start the early stages of Virgin Active. Sometimes in business people get hurt but sometimes too doing a deal is the right thing for all parties.
