How to Tell if a Client Is Dissociating in Therapy

As a therapist, how do you know if a client's dissociating in session? What signs do you look for? In your experience, what does dissociation look like and how do you respond if you think a client is dissociating? Okay, all great questions. First of all, if your therapist judges you and thinks that you're making things up, that's not a good therapist. My whole goal with my patients is to help them feel kind of held comfortable. Like I hear them and I'm with them. That's like my entire goal in each session,. Along with obviously challenging them and being a detective and all that good stuff.
