Cognitive systems engineers are people. They have similar kinds of cognitive processes that you might see in some of those other kind of high-risk, high-consequence domains. And when there's been a lot of emotions after a layoff or after a big re-org restructuring, this can make it really hard for people to concentrate at work and to feel safe at work as well. This new sort of approach that I've been thinking about is how do we take some of these same kinds of models and these same types of methods that we use to understand cognitive demands and what overload means from a cognitive perspective?
