The Importance of Technology in the US Manufacturing Sector

The US was facing an issue of key electronic components only available in China. And I think a big eye opener for me was sort of visiting Hanhai, Foxconn up in Wisconsin. They sort of described their thinking that over the long term, the US government will be unwilling to source components from China. It actually has pretty profound implications, because I don't think people appreciate that tech has been the single biggest driver of hollowing out of the US manufacturing over the past 20 years.
