Distributed Databases for Parallel Processing

In a previous conversation, I remember thinking that there's two reasons for why you might want to create or distribute your database. The first one is for speed availability and redundancy; the other was like distributing my data across multiple databases in order to do parallel processing. In this case, we're talking about big analytics and machine learning. For instance, Uber can use a system like our system called Apache Sedona to analyze the history of Uber rides with external geospatial data sources.
