CHAPTER

Indigenous Peoples in a White Dominated Space

In a book by an indigenous young woman, Helen Naught, she says her bodies transform in a white dominated space. She doesn't make eye contact with people, she will just shuffle along. This happens in any kind of larger public space, her whole presence changes. Outside of that, she's been our matriarch where she holds space.
