I think there's almost a false sense of security about the predictability of basic life anyway. For people who've always been in like paycheck careers it's a kind of shock they've never dealt with whereas for me I have a couple of big gigs a couple of smaller gigs a sub-stack and so forth and if I use any one of them I'll make a couple of little adjustments but fundamentally it's not going to kill me.
