The Importance of REM Sleep in EMDR
The eye movement is similar in EMDR as REM sleep. That's the time period in our day where we're integrating everything that happened to us and putting it into our memory banks. The other idea is that we have this big generalization effect through the neural networks. So for instance, if you've had loose car accidents, several car accidents, and you're having trouble driving because you've got all this anxiety,. You can start with either the earliest or the worst of those accidents. And by doing one of them, it will generalize up through the neural network and take care of all of them. We naturally move towards health and wholeness.
