The Importance of Being Open-Minded

There's an old joke about if you're open-minded then you can get your mind filled with garbage. So there is a sense though of wanting to try things on, but they should also be evaluated if you should use them and try them out. There's a kind of two-step process that's essential in my eyes for any kind of creative endeavor. And so the open-mindedness is absolutely part of it, but it has to be paired with critical thinking and other aspects like that.
