How to Develop a Quantum Theory of Gravity

People are building new theories of gravity at the quantum level. The tricky thing is that we have a lot of measurements of gravity already. If you develop a new theory it has to reproduce all of those calculations as well. So far we haven't been able to do that. All of our mathematical attempts have sort of blown up in our hands.
