Race, Race Hatred in the Second World War

Race played a large role in the second world war. In europe, you have the whole master race question involved in nose ideology. The way that the japanese had ad conducted themselves during the war aroused this peculiar race hatred o many of those who would engage in the most awful sorts of rhetoric. Many of those who engaged ntat sort of races rhetoric were allso genuinely sympathetic to the chinese and saw them as our allies. And yet when you look at that, certainly as an american,. you wish that we could have done some things differently. I think you have to recognize that this was a very extreme time in which people acted on their own terms.
