The Wreck of the Munchin

MS Munchin, a large German container ship, left port in Bremerhaven, Germany, bound for Savannah, Georgia. On December 7, 1978, a Greek freighter received a distress call, relayed in broken Morse code from the Munchin. The British Coast Guard instigated a search and rescue operation, but the weather was bad and little could be done. After 1995, this mysterious, unusual event was no longer so mysterious, and not as unusual, either. We can't know for sure, but the best theory by a country mile is that MS Munchin was sunk by a rogue wave.
