Market consensus has been centered around november or december. That depends on how much advanced notice the fed feels it needs to give markets. A taper that lasts eight to ten months, depending upon how aggressive the fed wants to be in bringing down those asset purchasers remember to still be buying even while it's reducing the amount it buys.
