Leonard Cohen's great gifts were for honesty and intimacy. He made me feel as if there was nothing I couldn't say, he had that rare gift very quickly. There was a sense that there was almost nothing he wouldn't say, nothing was off limits. One of the things that moved me was that he realized that silence was the most intimate thing that we could share together.
