We tend to think of ourselves on the top of whatever things that we're categorizing. We started domesticating plants because we knew it would be good for us, and we wanted larger seeds. The brain has very much at present bias as well, so i'm not really thinking years down the line. You're thinking, whens my next meal going to happen?
