A Case Study of a Painter vs a Bakery Owner

Paul and Tiffany were still in negotiations, and there is no way to know for sure whether they would reach final agreement. Therefore, paul would likely not recover his consequential damages. Let's do one more that deals with slightly different issues. On january first, a painter and a bakery owner signed an agreement providing that the contractor would paint the owner's new bakery by february first for ten thousand dollars, paid upon completion. To celebrate the grand opening of the new bakery, the owner had planned and widely promoted a pie eating contest on February fifteenth. The tickets to the contest were sold out, resulting in a profit of four thousand dollars for the owner.
