The Tradition of the New Yorker
The New Yorker starts, you know, almost a hundred years ago now as like sort of a parody of like a weekly news magazine. The idea in those early days was that there was something slightly ridiculous about Time magazine and the idea of these far-flung correspondence. And I think it really does have its roots in that founding editor, Harold Ross, because he was sort of an unpretentious guy, right?
