I Don't Have a Mortgage on My Home in Puerto Rico
"I don't have insurance on my property in Puerto Rico. I did at one point before Hurricane Maria, and I ended up doing really well on that policy because I paid $10,000 for a six month policy," he says. "And by the way, I've owned that home for I don't know 11, 12 years during the entire history of my ownership of that home,. So all of that insurance money was a waste." He has since self-insured to avoid paying those premiums over the last four or five years.
