Alpha and Beta in Stocks and Life

In life, we take a lot of decisions on the basis of its supposed alpha. If you want to change your job then why are you doing it? And if you want to become friends with someone or enter into a new relationship that's also alpha because it's growth. All of those things are just alpha.
