We have no idea how many people died in this armed conflict. It may be that there were refugees who left the city for other regions. We don't know where those regions are. One gets a sense of what the refugees may have been feeling by reading something like Euripides, the Trojan women or simply going to northwestern Asia Minor now where Troy is located. And that same area you now see Syrian refugees waiting for boats that will take them to Lesbos and thus to Greece.
