We 're involved in a war with covet and it seems like we should take some of the tactic o would use in a war. Your example of privacy would be a great example. The other thing i think we wouldn't tolerate in a war is the field of epidemiology not delivering the most basic answers to the most basic questions, even a couple of years in which mass work or don't work. How long are people infectious? And yet, in a public health setting, we just go along, excepting that we know nothing about how this disease is spread.
