The Importance of Emotions in Creativity

My picture is that when emotions are free to move instead of getting jammed up, then you're constantly having all sorts of emotions and it's part of the creativity process. So there is a sense in which I could agree with that or at least consider it plausible. But then you're inclined, I think, to just smoothly go over into sensations like pain and pleasure and so on. Or we maybe disagree about whether anger is one of them. The most successful case I had was considering large amounts of pain and how that so that's a sensation much more than it is an emotion.
