The S&P 500 broke above its 50-day moving average in January, and that has acted as short-term support. While I personally still anticipate a bear market decline of some sort this year, it's clear that this is not the moment in the cycle and its earnings are not the catalyst. The one thing to watch is all the major central banks are talking next week between the FOMC, the ECB and the Bank of England.
