A Day in the Life - A Bigglisando

This huge glisando the lift off as the rocket launches into outer space is extremely reminiscent of the beetles. A day in the life, of course, was recorded only a couple of years before this. And while i don't know for sure that it was an influence on this part of space oudity, i have to imagine that it kind of was. Because what musician wouldn't hear a massive glisando like the one in a day in life and think, well, ok, will have to do something like that on my next record?
